Chapter 15

Fallon

“They’re gonna be here any minute.”

Toga’s arms come around me from behind, and I lock eyes with him in the mirror. I’ve been here for almost a week, and we seem to have settled into some sort of routine. He takes care of club business, and I handle conference calls and all things non-profit. We eat dinner together, when we can, and watch a little television or a movie before going to bed together and waking up together. And all the fun we have in between? That’s the icing on the cake of life.

“I know.” I frown at my reflection.

“You look incredible, Fallon.” Toga leans forward and kisses me on the cheek. “Besides, you’re going to be hanging out with the girls, not out trolling for men.” He spins me around and looks me dead in the eye. “At least you better not be.”

I swat his arm. “You know I’m not.”

“Good, because I don’t share. Not ever. If you want to see my dark side, that would be a sure-fire way to do it.”

“While your dark side intrigues me, even turns me on a little, I’m in no way going to coax it out that way.” She gives me a peck on the lips. “I don’t share either. And in case you missed the memo, you’re mine, David Locke. All mine.”

“Glad we got that cleared up.” He grins at me one last time before leaving the bathroom and me alone to finish getting ready.

It doesn’t take me but five more minutes, and when I go out into the living room, Laney and Sami are already there, chatting with Toga. Magic and Snow are there, as well as Duck, Dip, and Brady. I’ve met them all, and many others, but this seems to be the core group of club members.

“Wow, the whole crew is here,” I observe. “What’s the occasion? I thought this was a girl’s night.”

“That’s the thing around here, honey,” Laney says. “Ya always gotta be prepared for plans to change.”

“So, not a girl’s night?”

“Not technically,” Sami confirms. “We have instructed the men to steer clear, but we’ll all be at the clubhouse tonight. They’ve got some business to attend to, so hopefully we’ll be good and drunk by the time they join us. It’s not often we have a babysitter, and I, for one, plan to take full advantage of that.”

“I’m game for whatever,” I tell them. “As long as there’s beer in my hand and you girls to hang with, I’m down.”

I glance at Toga and see him smiling, all the while his eyes are on me. I don’t know if this is exactly what Laney said and the plans just changed or if this was some sort of test to see if I fit in. Either way, I think I passed.

Everyone starts to file out of the house. Toga locks the door and leads me down the steps toward his Harley parked in front. Snow and Sami get on Snow’s Harley, while Magic and Laney get on his.
